Every year we bid farewell to the old year and welcome in the new year with the Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party, one of the biggest block parties in the country. The Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party has been named by USA Today as one of the top ten places in America to ring in the new year. You and about 100,000 of your friends will be entertained with rides, music, dancing, fireworks and an evening full of family fun.

When is the Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party

New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

How much does it cost to get in?

$25 at the gate or
online.
$20 in advance online or at [name of store to be announced].
If you show a paid ticket stub from the Insight Bowl Game from 12-31-08 you'll get 50% off the gate price.

Are you a Tempe resident? If yes, you can save up to $15 per ticket with the voucher found in the November issue of Tempe Today. Residents are eligible to purchase up to four block party tickets per household at $5 each. Residents must bring the voucher and proof of residency from Dec. 1-26 to purchase their tickets at the following locations: Escalante Community Center, 2150 E. Orange St.; Kiwanis Recreation Center, 6111 S. All-America Way; Westside Multi-Generational Center, 715 W. Fifth St.; North Tempe Multi-Generational Center, 1555 N. Bridalwreath St.; Pyle Adult Recreation Center, 655 E. Southern Ave.; Tempe Parks and Recreation, on the second floor of 3500 S. Rural Rd.; or the Rio Salado Operations Center, 620 N. Mill Ave.

When Can I Buy Tickets For the Fiesta Bowl Block Party?

General pre-sale tickets go on sale December 1 for $15 at Fry's Food Stores or for $20 through the Fiesta Bowl ticket office and at the event gate.

What happens at the Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party?

The Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party always has nationally known musical entertainment. Attendees will rock out to 40 local bands on 11 stages and enjoy beer gardens, freestyle motor cross jumpers, dueling pianos, a midnight countdown drop, fireworks displays, street performers and much more. The headliner for 2008 is Styx, scheduled to perform at 11:15 p.m.

Is the Fiesta Bowl Block Party appropriate for kids?

Tempe Beach Park has the Kids Area, where children ages 2 to 12 can enjoy activities from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Activities include hat and mask decorating, stick horse riding, hula hoops, construction sandbox, and a sports field with footballs, horseshoes, ring toss, soccer balls, bean bag toss and bowling. There will also be more than 20 carnival rides on hand. Add to the fun with more than 20 carnival rides.

What else should I know?

The Insight Fiesta Bowl Block Party features fireworks shows at 10 p.m. and midnight.
