A saguaro's arms usually begin to grow only after it is about 15 feet tall and around 75 years old.
I once heard someone state that a saguaro cactus can grow a maximum of five arms. That person never drove through the Sonoran Desert! A saguaro can have many arms. Do I hear 20? 30? 40? I don't really know what the record is!
